Radio Collocation with Null Filled MT-484026NVH Antenna and Cambium Networks 450 AP.

The following two figures (Figure1 and 2) show the two antennas MT-484026NVH and its radiation pattern, figures 3 and 4 show the 450 antenna and its radiation pattern, there are some advantages for the new antenna over the one comes with the 450 AP. From antennas theory, the MT-484026NVH antenna as can be seen from the side view of the antenna, the antenna is made very thin there will be allot lesser coupling issues with this type of antenna and if one see the radiation pattern the maximum back lobe is -50 dBi and the side lobes are allot lesser than the antenna come with 450 AP, on the other hand, the antenna comes with 450 AP and it is placed inside a cover, cavity and the coupling issues will raise in that type of antenna and also one can see it from the radiation pattern that the back lobe is allot bigger compare to the new antenna (-40 dBi) so is the side lobe, that is why one should be care full in reusing the same radios (collocating channels) , figures below (Figures 5,6,7 and 8) show the comparison between the performance  of antennas come with the 450 AP and the new antenna (MT-484026NVH), the channels reused in 60 degrees apart from each other in two channels reused (6x2) means that, 2 channels have been used for all 6 sectors and the results shown below (nx2) in figure 5, and as can be seen from figure5 the signal strength between the two neighboring sectors (interference zone) are really good (there is no interference) in other word there is no yellow zone in between the neighboring sectors. And figure6 shows the nx3 channels reused for new type antenna, means that three channels have been used for all six sectors which show 180 degrees space between the same channels.

The same way as explained above figure7 and 8 below, show the performance of the antenna comes with the 450 AP with two channels reused in 60 degrees apart from each other (6x2), means that 2 channels have been used for all 6 sectors as it is shown in figure7 below there is some interference in between the neighboring sectors (yellow zone) as marked off with an arrows shape with BAD written on it.

Figure8 below show the performance of the antenna comes with the 450 AP with three channels reused in 180 degrees apart from each other (6x2), means that 3 channels have been used for all 6 sectors as it is shown in the figure below it will be acceptable in this fashion, since there is a good signal strength and also there is no interference zone in between the neighboring sectors (no yellow area).

Figure9 below shows the performance of the MTI antenna with four sectors with back to back frequency reuse (180 degrees apart from each other) as it is shown in the figure below, since there is a good signal strength and also there is no interference zone in between the neighboring sectors compare to the once come with 450 APs (the 90 degrees sector and the 45 degrees sector) the signal strength gap between the neighboring sector on the 450s makes it to have less performance than MTI antennas, the larger the gap the worse the antenna performance, the MTI antenna shown in figure9 seems to perform better than the 90 degrees and 45 degrees sector of the 450s as shown in the following figures.

Figure10 and figure11 below show the performance of the antennas come with the 450 AP with two channels reused in 180 degrees apart from each other (4x2), means that two channels have been used for all 4 sectors as it is shown in the figure below, the gap between the signal strength between the neighboring sectors makes the antenna to weakly perform for a 360 degrees cluster, the signal strength will still be acceptable in this fashion but it has less performance than the MTI antenna shown above. Figure11 shows the 450 antenna with 45 degrees sectors (4x2) with back to back channel reuse, since the signal strength gap between the neighboring sectors get larger for a 360 degrees cluster, it is better not to use them for such a combination.
